What’s a Practica?

A practica is an open practice session - less formal than a milonga, more structured than dancing at home. There are no tandas, no cortinas, no codes. You come to work on your dancing.

What Happens

Show up any time during the session. Find a partner, work through something specific, take a break, try again. Experienced dancers are happy to talk through technique if you ask.

May Special: Technique Class included

Throughout May, a technique class runs from 8:00 to 9:00 PM as part of the practica. No registration needed - just show up.

Who’s It For

All levels. Beginners are especially welcome - the Monday practica is a good place to work on what you’ve learned in class, or to explore the basics with a patient partner.

What to Bring

  • Clean, smooth-soled shoes (or proper dance shoes)
  • Comfortable clothes you can move in
  • Water
